Jim Thomson

Mayor at CITY OF RICHMOND HEIGHTS

Jim Thomson, first elected Mayor in April 2016, is a lifelong resident of Richmond Heights. Six generations of his family have lived and attended school and church in Richmond Heights. Thomson is retired after 34 years with the St. Louis Public School system and served as a Richmond Heights District 2 Councilmember from 2008-2012. Mayor Thomson has always been interested in active community participation with residents and encourages keeping residents informed through District meetings and City messaging systems. He encourages our residents to enjoy the City's newest businesses, restaurants, and park improvements and looks forward to providing a high level of communication with City residents.

He was elected to his second term in June of 2020 (April Municipal Election was pushed back due to COVID-19). Mayor Thomson's second term expires in April 2024.
