Meldon Jenkins-Jones

Meldon Jenkins-Jones is an experienced library professional currently serving as the Library Community Services Manager for the City of Richmond, Virginia, since July 2022. Prior to this role, Meldon worked as a Law Librarian at the Richmond Public Law Library, where responsibilities included performing legal research, teaching classes on legal research, managing the law library collection, and overseeing interns and volunteers. Meldon also held the position of Interim Library Community Services Manager at the West End Branch of the Richmond Public Library, where community outreach and the establishment of the West End Writers Group were key contributions. Early career experience includes customer service and technical roles at Portsmouth Public Library and a background in real estate as a salesperson. Meldon is a graduate of Florida State University with a Master of Science in Library and Information Studies, holds a Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Civilization, African American Studies, and Physics from Smith College.
