James Martin

James Martin has extensive experience in building safety and management, currently serving as the Building Official for the City of Rome, Georgia, since December 2003. Responsibilities include supervising the Plan Check and Permit Issuance Section, conducting plan check reviews, and ensuring compliance with safety and accessibility standards. Prior to this role, James served in the US Navy as a Builder 2nd Class E-5 from August 1993 to August 1998. Academically, James holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management and Leadership with a focus on Public Safety Leadership from Reinhardt University's McCamish School of Business and an Associate's degree in Fire Science from Georgia Northwestern Technical College.
