Mike Hemker

Mike Hemker, CPRP, has extensive experience in parks and recreation management, currently serving as the Park Operations Manager for the City of Round Rock since February 2023. Prior roles include Parks & Recreation Assistant Director for the City of Temple, TX (January 2019 - January 2023), Parks & Recreation Manager at Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District (January 2017 - December 2018), and Parks & Recreation Director/Park Development Manager for the City of Hutto (November 2004 - December 2016). Earlier career positions include Aquatics Superintendent for the City of New Braunfels, Athletics/Aquatics Manager, and various roles with the City of Round Rock, as well as positions at the City of Deer Park and City of Denton. Mike holds a Bachelor's of Science in Recreation & Leisure Service Administration from the University of North Texas and completed the National Recreation & Park Association Directors' School. Mike is also a certified park and recreation professional through the NRPA.
