Scott Gardner has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Scott started their career in 1991 at Hawker Beechcraft, where they worked as a Manager for 18 years. In 2009, they joined MAMTC as a Project Manager and later became the Director, serving until 2017. In 2017, they joined Schwan's as a Senior Manufacturing Manager. In 2018, they joined the City of Salina, where they held positions as the Director of Continuous Process Improvement and the Director of Computer Technology. Scott also has experience as a Business Owner in the management field.

Scott Gardner earned a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the University of Northern Iowa from 1984 to 1987. Scott also obtained a Bachelor of Architecture - BArch degree in Communication and Media Studies from the same university from 1984 to 1986. Additionally, they graduated from Salina Central High in 1982 with a High School Diploma in General Studies. Later, Scott pursued further education and earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Kansas Wesleyan University from 2000 to 2002. Scott also earned a Master's Degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from the same university during the same time period.

Scott Gardner has also obtained several certifications. These include being an Innovation Engineering Black Belt from Eureka! Ranch in May 2011, a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt from MAMTC - The Manufacturer's Edge in July 2009, Risk Management from RANA International in May 2008, a Quality Improvement Associate from ASQ in June 2007, and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Raytheon in May 2001.

City Of Salina

Originated in 1858 under the Town and Village Act in the State of Kansas, Salina became a City of the First Class on July 9, 1920 and has had a commission-city manager form of government since 1921. The commission, comprised of five members elected at large, selects one member each year to serve as mayor. The governing body is responsible for determining policy, and the city manager is responsible for the administration of the municipality. Appointed by the governing body, the city manager acts as the chief executive and primary agent. The City of Salina is comprised of 13 departments: Arts and Humanities, City Manager's Office, Finance, Computer Technology, Community and Development Services, Fire, Human Resources, Municipal Court, Parks and Recreation, Police, Public Works, Utilities. The departments work together to serve the needs of Salina's citizens, and they aim to be the best performing municipality in Kansas.
