Michael Hanna

Michael Hanna serves as the Assistant Public Works Director for the City of Salisbury, NC, managing services and staff within the Stormwater and Environmental divisions to ensure compliance with government regulations. In previous roles, Michael has developed and led public education initiatives for stormwater, solid waste, and recycling programs, as well as managed the MS4 Phase 2 permit to enhance local surface water quality. Earlier career experiences include serving as a Code Enforcement Officer, overseeing a variety of cases, and a brief tenure as Interim Code Services Manager at Havertys Furniture. Michael also coached kickers and punters as an Assistant Special Teams Coach at Gardner-Webb University. A graduate of Gardner-Webb University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Michael has been with the City of Salisbury since June 2012.
