John Peterek

John Peterek is an experienced public service professional currently serving as the Assistant City Manager for the City of San Antonio since June 2011. In this role, John oversees multiple departments, including Development Services, Public Works, Building and Equipment Services, Planning, and Transportation. John has held various positions within the City of San Antonio, including Interim Assistant City Manager, Assistant to the City Manager, and Special Projects Manager in the Office of the City Manager. Prior to this, John worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin and gained experience at MAXIMUS and as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Belize. John also served as the Coordinator of Spiritual Formation & Outreach at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Uvalde, Texas. John holds a Master of Public Affairs from The LBJ School of Public Affairs and a BA in History from Texas Lutheran University.
