Laura Patiño currently serves as the Chief Resilience Officer for the City of San Antonio and the University of Texas Environmental Science Institute Advisory Council. Previously, Patiño held the position of Chief Resilience Officer in the City of Austin and served as Deputy Chief Resilience and Sustainability Officer in Houston, where significant contributions included leading recovery efforts after Hurricane Harvey and implementing the Resilient Houston plan. Patiño is also the founder of The Water Chronicles, a project that highlights the integration of water management and green infrastructure in urban environments. Other experience includes contributions to the National Climate Assessment as a contributing author and various roles as an environmental engineer for Shell. Patiño holds a Master’s degree in Bioresource Engineering from McGill University and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Louisiana State University.
