City of San Antonio
Maria Palma, MPH, is currently the Nutrition Policy Lead for the City of San Antonio, a position held since March 2022. Responsibilities include overseeing nutrition policy strategies, developing a nutrition equity framework, and facilitating workshops for public health professionals. As Chair of the Food Insecurity Workgroup, Maria employs Results-Based Facilitation and Collective Impact methods to enhance community engagement in nutrition programming. Previous roles include Program Manager at the San Antonio Food Bank, where innovative programs were designed to tackle food insecurity, and Program Director for the Culinary Health Education for Families at CHRISTUS Children's, focusing on dietary improvements. Maria holds a Master's degree in Public Health Education and Promotion from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Affairs from Boston University.
