Don Alcala

Don Alcala is an experienced Electric Distribution Designer currently employed at Austin Energy since May 2022. Previously, Don has held the position of Electrical Engineer Technician at San Marcos since February 2018, focusing on electric distribution design. Earlier experience includes working as a Line Engineer II at Pedernales Electric Cooperative from March 1997 to March 2006, where responsibilities involved designing distribution facilities and coordinating with various stakeholders. Don's technical expertise extends to installation and troubleshooting of communication and security systems, as well as proficiency in GIS technology for designing distribution networks. Don holds an Associate of Science degree in Computer and Information Sciences from Austin Community College, earned between 2010 and 2018.
