Gerardo Soria began their work experience in 2013 as an Operator-in-Training at the City of Thousand Oaks. Gerardo then joined the City of Santa Barbara in 2015 as a WWTP Operator III. Gerardo recently advanced to the position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Chief Operator in October 2021.

Gerardo Soria completed their Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences from Westmont College between 2008 and 2012. In addition to their formal education, they obtained certifications in "Improving Your Leadership Communications" and "Leadership Foundations: Leadership Styles and Models" from LinkedIn in September 2021.
