Meka Okochi has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. They started their career in 2006 as the Vice President of Innovation & Business Development at Communities of Tomorrow. They then worked at SaskEnergy Incorporated as the Leader of Business Development before moving on to become the Vice President of Economic Development at Economic Development Regina Inc. In 2014, Meka became the Vice President of Business Development at Prairie Biogas Ltd. Following that, they worked at Co-op Refinery Complex, first as the Strategic Portfolio Manager and then as the Planning Engineer. Their most recent experience is as the Director of Organizational Strategy Execution at the City of Saskatoon, a role they began in December of 2020.
Meka Okochi holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Systems Engineering from the University of Regina, which was obtained in 2013. Prior to that, they completed their M.Sc. in Engineering (Distinction) with a focus on Environmentally Sustainable Process Technology at Chalmers University of Technology in 2004. Meka also holds a B.Sc. (Honours) in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Lagos, completed in 2002. In addition to their academic achievements, Meka has obtained certifications in Management of Portfolios (MoP® Practitioner) from AXELOS Global Best Practice, Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan, and Project Management Professional (PMP®) from the Project Management Institute.
