Zachary Schwarz is an experienced sustainability professional currently serving as the Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Sedona, Arizona, since July 2022. Previously, Zachary held the position of Environmental Center Board Chair at the University of Colorado Boulder, where leadership involved collaboration with stakeholders to develop sustainability initiatives for Student Government. As a Project Manager and Drought Consultant for NOAA, Zachary conducted extensive interviews with land use planners across the Southwest. Prior experience includes serving as an Environmental Geology Consultant for Amec Foster Wheeler, overseeing air monitoring at a Superfund site, and working as an Emergency Medical Technician at both Sesame Place theme park and Second Alarmers Rescue Squad. Zachary holds a Master's degree in Urban Sustainability and Resiliency from the University of Colorado Boulder and is currently pursuing a Master's Certificate in Greenhouse Gas Accounting at Northern Arizona University.
