James York has extensive experience in law enforcement and management. Currently serving as a Patrol Officer for the City of Shafter since March 2020, James previously held various positions at the Marin County Sheriff's Office from October 1999 to March 2020, including Patrol Deputy and Deputy Sheriff. Prior to a career in law enforcement, James was the General Manager at Good Nite Inn from July 1989 to January 2001. James holds a Field Training Certificate in Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Firefighting, and Related Protective Services from Napa Valley College, a POST Certificate from Santa Rosa Junior College, and a degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona. Education was completed at South High School from 1985 to 1987.
