Ben McGorty

Ben McGorty is an experienced professional with a diverse background in public service, real estate, and inspection services. Currently serving as Lieutenant/Deputy Fire Marshal at Stratford Fire Department since August 2020, McGorty has been a State Representative for the 122nd District since July 2014 and has held various roles within the City of Shelton, including Fire Commissioner and Deputy Fire Marshal. McGorty also works as a Sales Associate at Coldwell Banker Realty, a position held since November 2020. Previously, McGorty was the President of McGorty Inspection Services LLC, offering loss control inspections and educational consulting. Early career experience includes a role at SNET/SBC in Fleet Operations. McGorty holds an Associate's Degree in Management from Housatonic and graduated from Greenwich High.
