Peterson's roles have ranged from GIS Intern to Staff Planner, culminating in the current position of Associate Planner at the City of Shoreview. With a Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Peterson has focused on areas such as development proposal reviews, long-term planning strategies, and geographic information systems utilization throughout their career.
