JT Scott currently serves as the Temp State Opioid Response Grant Coordinator at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, overseeing a $59M federal SAMHSA grant program since July 2023. JT has been a Ward 2 City Councilor for the City of Somerville since January 2018, and since November 2011, owns CrossFit Somerville, recognized as a community center committed to local employment and fair wages. Previously, JT owned CrossFit Fenway, the first trans*-friendly and gender-neutral CrossFit facility in Boston, and performed with the Boston Circus Guild. JT’s early career in sales includes roles at Synopsys and Avant!, following a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering from Duke University obtained in 1998.
