Emily Abernathy

Emily Abernathy is a seasoned events professional with extensive experience in event coordination and operations management. Since September 2021, Emily has served as the Special Events & Facility Rentals Coordinator for the City of South Lake Tahoe. Prior to this role, Emily spent over a decade at the Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce, initially as Events Director and later as Director of Operations, overseeing a range of impactful events, including Sample the Sierra and the Blue Ribbon Awards. Earlier in Emily's career, experience as an Events Manager for ARAMARK and Event & Recreation Coordinator at Kirkwood Mountain Resort contributed to a strong foundation in event planning and execution. Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation Administration, Business, and Child Development from Humboldt State University.
