Brent Ives

Brent Ives has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of information systems and technology. Brent has held various roles in different companies, showcasing their expertise and leadership abilities.

Starting in 1993, Brent worked as a Systems Programmer for ED TEL, where they designed and constructed Powerbuilder client applications and enforced coding and GUI standards. Brent then worked for TELUS Communications as an Interactive Television Developer and Systems Analyst, leading projects and implementing custom-built systems.

From 2000 to 2010, Brent worked for EPCOR, where they served as the Senior Manager of IS Strategy & Planning and the CRM (Siebel) Team Lead. Brent managed the development and support of the CRM application and led a team of developers, implementing a monthly release strategy for the system.

At a National Telecommunications company, Brent provided project management consulting services, overseeing the rollout of applications used by customers on their TV platform.

From 2011 to 2012, Brent worked as a Manager of Application Development at TELUS, leading a team that designed and built applications for the TELUS Optik TV service.

Afterward, Brent joined Alberta Innovates as an Executive Director of Information Technology, a position they held for seven years. In this role, they provided leadership and guidance in implementing IT solutions and driving innovation.

Most recently, in 2019, Brent worked as a Service Bureau Manager for Vix Technology, where they were responsible for the design and operation of the Service Bureau, overseeing the deployment of the Regional Smart Fare Solution in the Edmonton region.

Currently, Brent holds the position of Director of Information Systems at the City of Spruce Grove, where they contribute to the vibrant and dynamic city by implementing information systems and improving community services.
