Deb Comfort

Deb Comfort has a solid work experience in the field of community development and recreation. Deb is currently working as the Director of Recreation and Culture at the City of Spruce Grove since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Community Development and Recreation Consultant from October 2020 to November 2021. Deb'sprevious long-term employment was at the City of Red Deer, where they held multiple roles. From October 2006 to September 2020, they served as the Neighbourhood Facilities & Community Development Supervisor, overseeing various aspects of leisure program delivery, recreation facility operations, community facilitation, and budgeting. Before that, from February 2004 to October 2006, they worked as a Strategic Initiatives Planner, providing support to the Community Services Directorship and managing projects, contracts, and partnerships.

Deb Comfort earned a Diploma in Recreation Administration from Red Deer Polytechnic from 1987 to 1990. Deb then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Recreation & Leisure Studies with a specialization in Parks, Recreation and Leisure Studies at the University of Alberta from 1990 to 1992.
