Elizabeth Lawrence has extensive work experience in economic development and government policy. Elizabeth started their career in 1993 as a Senior Policy Analyst at the Department of Rural Development, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. In 1996, they joined the City of St. John's as a Manager of Economic Development and gradually took on higher positions, including Director of Economic Development, Tourism and Culture, Director of Strategy & Engagement, and currently, Director of Economic Development, Culture and Partnerships. Elizabeth Lawrence has been in their current role since January 2017.
Elizabeth Lawrence attended Dalhousie University, where they obtained a Masters of Development Economics. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Elizabeth also obtained a Masters certificate in project management from the same university.
