Joseph Citro has extensive experience in public service and community development in Tampa. Currently serving as a Variance Review Board Member appointed by Mayor Bob Buckhorn since 2015, Citro makes critical decisions impacting property owners facing hardships. As Chair of the Economic Development and Planning Committee for the Ybor City Development Corporation since 2013, Citro advises on transportation needs and promotes diverse business start-ups. Past leadership roles include President of the Ybor City Rotary Club and the Tiger Bay Club of Tampa, as well as a Special Magistrate of the Code Enforcement Board, appointed by Mayor Pam Iorio, where Citro balanced development with zoning and building codes. This background is complemented by a commitment to fair treatment for City employees as Chair of the Civil Service Board and volunteer work with Meals on Wheels America. Prior to engaging in public service, Citro worked as a stylist at Tiffany's | Danz | Divas Hair & Nail Salon from 1984 to 2000.
