John Tyson is currently the Manager of Internal Audit for the City of Thunder Bay since September 2004, after previously serving as an Internal Auditor and Projects Analyst. In addition to this role, John Tyson has been actively involved with the Municipal Internal Auditors Association (MIAA) since October 2017, serving as the Membership Director on the Executive Board. This association supports over 40 audit groups from various municipalities and organizations across Ontario. Prior to their current positions, John Tyson held various roles in procurement, including Senior Purchasing Agent at Bombardier Transportation and Purchasing Agent at Northland Superior Supply Co Ltd. John Tyson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Lakehead University and an Engineering Technologist degree in Aviation Manufacturing from Confederation College. Further leadership development was achieved through participation in Leadership Thunder Bay from 2006 to 2007.
