Jason Li

Jason Li is an accomplished finance professional currently serving as the Controller and Chief Accountant for the City of Toronto since August 2024. Prior experience includes key leadership roles at York Region, where Jason held the positions of Director of the Controllership Office and Deputy Treasurer, Commissioner of Finance and Regional Treasurer, and Corporate Accounting Manager from 2016 to September 2024. Additional experience includes serving as Controller/Chief Accountant at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing from 2014 to 2016, and as Senior Audit Manager at the Ontario Ministry of Finance from 2009 to 2014. Jason began their career as a Manager at PwC from 2006 to 2008. Jason holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto, earned between 1997 and 2000.
