Ian Sansom

Ian Sansom is a seasoned project manager specializing in transit-oriented development, currently serving the City of Tucson since February 2021. Prior to this role, Ian held project management positions at PEDS, where contributions included organizing the virtual Georgia Walk Summit and leading pedestrian safety workshops for GDOT. Ian’s extensive experience as a senior planner at Alta Planning + Design involved managing numerous active transportation projects across various communities and leading training sessions on pedestrian safety at both local and national levels. Earlier roles include managing pedestrian safety programs at PEDS Atlanta, coordinating community initiatives for the Atlanta Regional Commission, and assisting with planning projects in diverse settings. Ian holds a Master's degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from the University of New Mexico and a Bachelor's degree in Human Geography from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
