John Zeman

John Zeman is an accomplished civil engineer currently serving as the City Engineer for the City of Urbana, Illinois since October 2021. Prior to this role, John was a Senior Project Engineer at Farnsworth Group, Inc. from June 2010 to October 2021. John's academic background includes a Master of Science in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, both obtained from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. During John's time at the university, significant research contributions were made as a Graduate Research Assistant, including the development of a laboratory test for evaluating concrete crosstie rail seat deterioration and subsequent publications in the field. Additionally, John gained practical experience as an intern in the Bridges & Structures department at CN, where inspections of various bridge types were conducted.
