Richard Schnuer possesses extensive experience in municipal finance and governance. As a current member of the Urbana Firefighters Pension Board since July 2017, responsibilities include managing fund assets, evaluating disability pension applications, and advising on pension funding. Prior to this role, Richard served as Finance Director for the City of Champaign from 1985 until retirement in 2015, overseeing a comprehensive range of financial services. Earlier career positions included City Administrator/Clerk in Geneseo and Assistant City Administrator/Finance Director in Takoma Park, alongside an internship with the U.S. Department of Labor. Richard holds an MBA in Management of Public and Not for Profit Organizations from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a cum laude degree in Liberal Arts, focusing on Anthropology and Sociology from Tufts University.
