Doug Smith

Doug Smith, P.Eng., has over three decades of experience in engineering and emergency management, primarily with the City of Vancouver since 1991. Currently serving as Deputy General Manager, Doug participates in emergency operations activations, fulfilling various leadership roles. Expertise includes structural engineering support for the Heavy Urban Search and Rescue Team, planning and executing the Green City Action Plan, and managing city fleet and emergency planning services. Doug's diverse experience encompasses transportation design, structural management, and public consultations for urban design initiatives. Doug holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Structural Engineering from The University of British Columbia.
