Johann Chang

Johann Chang is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in media relations and public affairs. Currently serving as the Senior Communications Specialist for Media Relations at the City of Vancouver since December 2021, Johann coordinates media responses, handles inquiries from reporters, writes news releases, and leads media training for spokespeople. Prior roles include Senior Public Affairs Officer for the Government of British Columbia, where strategic communications and media relations for the Ministry of Jobs, Economic Recovery and Innovation were provided. Johann began a career in journalism with positions as a Senior Reporter at Fairchild Radio and roles at Rogers Media and Fairchild Television, showcasing a strong background in reporting and broadcasting. Johann holds a Master of Arts in Intercultural and International Communication from Royal Roads University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Simon Fraser University.
