David Lind serves as the Fire Chief for the City of Vernon, BC, Canada since November 2016, combining extensive experience in fire and emergency services. Simultaneously, David has been an Instructor for fire officer courses at JIBC since December 2014, where responsibilities include course management and student evaluation. Prior roles include Emergency Services Advisor for Methanex Corporation, Deputy Fire Chief - Operations at Medicine Hat Fire Service, and Deputy Director of Fire and Emergency Services for the City of Cranbrook. David's career began as a firefighter at Brandon Fire & Emergency Services, where specialized skills in rescue operations were developed. A graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Service/Fire Service from the Justice Institute and University of Victoria, David has also earned multiple certifications in emergency management and fire services.
