Elma Hamming

Elma Hamming, CPA, CMA, currently serves as the Director of Financial Services for the City of Vernon, BC, Canada, since March 2024. Prior to this role, Elma held positions such as Manager of Finance at the City of Penticton and Chief Financial Officer for both the Town of Oliver and the City of Rossland, where responsibilities included overseeing finance functions and IT services, as well as fulfilling the Acting CAO role during the CAO's absence. Elma's extensive background began in the private sector, gaining experience in financial management and accounting within manufacturing, wholesale, and retail environments from 1985 to 2000, followed by roles in local government finance. Elma's educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce in General Management from Thompson Rivers University and a CPA designation from CPA Canada.
