April Castaneda

April Castaneda has extensive work experience, primarily in business development and education. April is currently serving as the Director of Business Development for both The Economic Development Corporation of Weslaco and the City of Weslaco. Before that, they worked for South Texas College in various roles, including Relations Manager for Dual Credit Programs, Adjunct Instructor in the Marketing Department, Project Manager, and Professional Development Trainer. Their tenure at South Texas College lasted from September 2011 to November 2021.

April Castaneda earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Marketing from Texas A&M University-Commerce, which they attended from 2015 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Technology in Technology Management from South Texas College, where they studied from 2002 to 2007. In addition to their academic qualifications, April Castaneda also holds a certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP)® from the Project Management Institute, which they attained in April 2021.
