Mary Johnston

Mary Johnston has been the Clerk of Council at the CITY OF WESTERVILLE since January 2003. Mary previously worked as a Deputy Clerk at the U.S. District Courts from June 2001 to January 2003, and as City Clerk/Deputy Clerk at the City of Freeport, Illinois from July 1983 to June 2001. In their current role, they are responsible for transcribing minutes of Council proceedings, preparing and distributing agendas, issuing permits and licenses, managing payroll and accounts payable/receivable, and overseeing human resources.

Mary Johnston earned a Master's degree in Public Administration from University of Phoenix. Mary also holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, General from University of Phoenix. Mary is certified by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks in the Athenian Leadership Society, Master Municipal Clerk, and Certified Municipal Clerk.
