Gilberto Oliva

Gilberto Oliva currently serves as the Deputy Chief Information Officer for the City of Wichita, Kansas, since March 2024, where responsibilities include assisting in the strategic management of IT programs and policies. Prior to this role, Oliva worked as an IT Security Auditor at the Kansas Legislative Division of Post Audit, conducting risk-based audits for state agencies. Experience also includes serving as the Director of Technology Infrastructure at Friends University, overseeing IT operations, and the Director of Information Technology at Hesston College, where policy development and operational management were key responsibilities. Oliva’s earlier roles include Engagement Manager at Cisco Systems, IT Director at Southwest National Bank, and Senior Network Engineer at Data Center Inc. Educational qualifications include a Master's in Management Information Systems and a Bachelor's in Computer Information Systems, both from Friends University, complemented by an Associate's degree in Computer Science Electronics from Hesston College.
