Michele Mixner DeWitt, CEcD, AICP, has extensive experience in economic development and city management, currently serving as the Assistant City Manager and Economic Development Director for the City of Williamsburg, Virginia, since August 2005, where Michele established the economic development department and directed efforts to attract and retain businesses. Prior experience includes roles as Economic Development Coordinator for the Town of West Point, where Michele managed a 100-acre industrial park and facilitated business relocations, and Program Manager at the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development, overseeing multiple economic development programs. Earlier career highlights include serving as Regional Planner for the Middle Peninsula Planning District Commission and as Environmental Enforcement Specialist for Middlesex County, Virginia. Michele holds a Bachelor’s Degree in City Planning from the University of Virginia and a Master of Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
