Kristen Olmsted

Kristen Olmsted currently serves as the Senior Director of National Mathematics Programs at City Year, a position held since August 2013. In this role, Kristen is recognized as an expert in mathematics education, driving national strategies for STEM learning and creating partnerships with various stakeholders across the organization. Kristen has led significant program redesign initiatives and developed training content for AmeriCorps members and staff, impacting thousands of students nationally. Prior experience includes positions as a National Mathematics Design Specialist and Impact Coach at City Year, as well as roles within the In Search of Genius Foundation and Chicago Public Schools. Kristen holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Education from the University of Illinois Chicago and has advanced degrees focusing on instructional leadership and early childhood education.
