Apurva "Apu" Kumar has held a variety of roles in the tech industry since 1998. Starting at mySimon Inc. as a Software Engineer, Search Technologies, Apu then moved to CNET as a Business Analyst & Software Architect. In 2001, Apu joined HP as a Director, Software & Services Attach, where they were responsible for the daily leadership and operational execution of the division, and grew the business to +$400 million at +90% operating profit. Apu then moved to Phoenix Technologies as VP, Sales & Business Development, where they successfully executed on the company’s strategic growth initiatives and grew the business to +$80M in revenues over two years. In 2011, Apu joined BlueStacks as SVP, Global Sales & Business Development and established the channel sales business, and grew the business internationally in Asia, with a focus on China and Japan. In 2013, Apu joined GamePop as SVP and GM, where they built and managed the product, service and business from soup to nuts, and grew the business from zero to $xx M over 12 months. In 2015, Apu joined Exvision Inc. as a Board Advisor and LotaData as Chief R&D. Most recently, Apu is the CEO of CITYDATA.ai.
Apurva "Apu" Kumar's education history includes a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Mumbai, which they earned between 1992 and 1996. From 1996 to 1998, they completed a Master of Science in Engineering and Earth Sciences at Stanford University. Prior to that, they attended Ruparel College from 1990 to 1992, studying Computer Science.
