Ragnar Ek has had a diverse range of work experience over the years. Starting in 1994, they worked as a Sivilingeniør at Norsk Hydro AS, where they built a database analysis tool for simulating gas pipeline networks in Russia. In 1994, they moved on to GEA Westfalia Separator AS and served as the Manager for the oil and shipping industry. Ragnar was responsible for developing process and separator solutions for offshore and shipping industries, and they successfully built up the offshore department and executed various reference projects. In 2008, Ragnar joined Aker Solutions AS as a Business Development Manager, where they worked until 2009. Following that, in 2009, they joined Metier OEC as the Director Construction, where they focused on large customer initiatives, collaboration processes, and project teaching. Most recently, in 2017, they became a Co-Founder and Board Member of CityQ, a tech ebike company.
Ragnar Ek's education history is as follows:
From 1989 to 1993, Ragnar Ek attended the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) where they pursued a degree in MCs. Their field of study was Maskinavdelingen - Institutt for termisk energi.
In 1986 and 1987, Ragnar Ek attended BI Norwegian Business School. During this time, they completed preparatory studies in economics and accounting, as well as a basic course in marketing.
In 2006, Ragnar Ek completed a leadership training program at Tekna.
In 2012, Ragnar Ek attended SKEMA Business School for a foundational course in project management, specifically in the field of Prosjektledelse.
Additionally, Ragnar Ek has obtained several certifications. These include Verdistyrt Prosjektutvikling from Metier OEC in November 2021, Lean Yellow Belt certification including TaskCtrl from Lean Communications AS in February 2021, Inbound Marketing and Sales Certification from HubSpot Academy in June 2020, Agile SHIFT from PeopleCert in February 2020, Best Value Procurement (BVP) - B certificate Public from NEVI in February 2018, Managing Successful Programmes Foundation from APMG International in February 2017, and PRINCE2® (Projects IN Controlled Environments) certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice in June 2016.
