Darren Lyons

Darren Lyons has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Darren currently holds the position of VP of Engineering at CitySwift, starting in April 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Deputy, where they held various roles from 2018 to 2023. These roles included Director of Engineering, Software Engineering Manager & Technical Lead, and Head of Delivery. During their time at Deputy, Darren achieved notable accomplishments such as fostering an environment of purpose and transparency, launching a new integrations directory, and re-architecting the integration system.

Before joining Deputy, Darren worked at Tyro Payments from 2014 to 2018. Darren served as a Delivery Lead, managing and coaching engineering teams and facilitating agile delivery activities. Additionally, they worked as a Software Engineer at Tyro, where they developed and tested a banking system and contributed to the architecture and design of a scalable distributed system.

Earlier in their career, Darren worked at Hewlett-Packard as a Software Engineer, where they gained experience in web application development using Java and Portlet technology. Darren also worked at Fidelity Investments as a Trainee Software Engineer, where they designed web applications using Java, JSP, and other technologies.
