Rachel Assa has over 20 years of work experience in materials engineering. Rachel began their career in 2000 as a Materials Engineer at Elbit Systems Ltd, where they were responsible for materials engineering aspects on specific projects and providing a wide range of laboratory services for the company. In 2007, they moved to Oree Advanced Illumination Solutions as a Materials Engineer. In 2009, they joined BrightSource Industries Israel (formerly Luz2) as a Research Student in the Hebrew University, conducting research in the field of solar photothermal conversion in collaboration with the R&D of BrightSource Company and Prof. Magdassi Shlomo group. Out of this research a patent was written and a successful product was established. In 2013, Rachel Assa became the Materials Engineering Team Leader and Materials Engineer at Civan Advanced Technologies.
Rachel Assa earned a BSc. in Materials Engineering and Physics from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology between 1997 and 2002. Rachel then went on to complete an MSc. in Chemistry from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem between 2009 and 2012.
