Emily Hilty has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Emily most recently worked at Civic Nation as the Director of Data & Analytics, starting in November 2022. Prior to that, they were the Principal at 216 Research & Analytics from September 2019. In June 2022, they worked as the Deputy Data Director at the Ohio Democratic Party.

Emily has also held multiple positions at Teach For America, including Senior Managing Director of Data Governance & Strategy from June 2021 to May 2022, and Managing Director of Data Governance & Strategy from November 2019 to June 2021. Before that, they worked as a Data Strategist at the Cleveland Metropolitan School District from November 2017 to September 2019.

Emily also worked at American Greetings as a Senior Statistician from March 2017 to October 2017, Senior Category Analyst from February 2016 to February 2017, and Category Analyst from December 2014 to February 2016.

Emily's work experience also includes positions as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Cincinnati from August 2013 to August 2014, and an Editorial Assistant at the American Political Science Association from January 2009 to July 2013. Emily was also an Instructor of Political Science at the IU School of Continuing Studies from August 2010 to September 2011.

Emily Hilty has a strong educational background in Political Science. Emily obtained their Ph.D. from Indiana University Bloomington, specializing in American Politics, Political Theory, and Methodology. Emily completed their doctoral studies from 2007 to 2013. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Mathematics from The College of Wooster, graduating in 2006. In 2004, they also participated in a Washington Semester program at American University, focusing on Peace and Conflict Resolution.
