Melissa Villanueva is an experienced professional with a diverse background in operations and management. Currently serving as Editorial Operations Manager at Chalkbeat since 2018, Melissa previously held roles such as People Operations Manager, Associate, and Operations Assistant, providing comprehensive support for staffing and talent coordination in various work environments. Prior experience includes serving as Office Manager at Families for Excellent Schools, ensuring office efficiency, and working as a Freelance External Recipe Tester for HelloFresh. At SMX at Google Express, Melissa was instrumental as Operational Excellence Lead, addressing quality issues and implementing improvements, and previously operated store functions as Store Operator. Earlier in their career, Melissa worked with Gap Inc., advancing from Assistant Manager to Acting General Manager, where business strategies were executed leading to enhanced customer satisfaction and sales performance. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Humanities from Rutgers University.
