Owen Barton

Owen Barton has a diverse and extensive background in technology and operations, currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at CivicActions since November 2005, where responsibilities include business development and leading a team of over 50 engineers to provide technical and strategic support for various clients. Previous roles include Technical Webmaster at Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network, where Owen managed server setups and web systems, and as an Independent Contractor, successfully developing an interactive tourism portal for the City of Gallup. Experience as a Technical Development Consultant for KGLP Gallup Public Radio involved overseeing the station's web and audio systems, and a brief tenure as Director of Operations for Teach for America focused on office systems and budget management. Owen co-managed and contributed to the growth of Wild Sage Cooperative and gained early experience as a Mathematics/Science Teacher with VSO. Educational qualifications include a BSc in Environmental Science from Lancaster University and A-Level certifications in Computing, Physics, and Mathematics.
