Amir Farnoud

Amir Farnoud is a seasoned professional in the field of chemical and biomolecular engineering with a robust background in research and development. Currently serving as the VP of R&D at Eat Just, Inc. since September 2024, Amir previously held the role of Chief Technology Officer and Research Lead at SIMULATE from August 2021 to July 2024. Earlier experience includes a position as Senior Scientist in Innovation at Beyond Meat, where Amir focused on lipid-based concepts to enhance product quality. Academically, Amir was an Associate Professor at Ohio University from August 2015 to August 2020, leading research on nanoparticle-biomembrane interactions. Prior postdoctoral work at Stony Brook University involved characterizing cell membrane properties in the pathogen Cryptococcus neoformans. Amir holds a PhD in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from the University of Iowa, a Master's from Tarbiat Modares University, and a Bachelor's from the University of Tehran.
