Alex Sudbury

Alex Sudbury is a highly experienced legal professional currently serving as the Head of Safety Operations Legal Team and Principal Legal Advisor at the Civil Aviation Authority since June 2017, specializing in legal and business risks related to RPAS (drones), Innovation, and Airspace. In addition, Alex holds the position of Company Secretary at CAA International, part of the UK CAA, since October 2021. Previous roles include Senior Associate at Herbert Smith Freehills, Associate at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, and various legal positions at the London Stock Exchange, Hogan Lovells, and DLA Piper. Alex’s educational background includes a Master of Laws in Civil Litigation from The University of Queensland, an LLB (Hons) from Griffith University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UNSW.
