Fred Keeley has extensive experience in public service and governance, currently serving as Treasurer for the County of Santa Cruz since January 2005, where responsibilities include managing a $650 million per day public sector investment portfolio and initiating a property tax postponement program for low-income seniors and disabled individuals. In addition, Fred Keeley serves as Trustee and Corporate Secretary for the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation, overseeing corporate governance and fiduciary responsibilities. Fred Keeley was previously an Assemblymember in the California State Assembly from December 1996 to December 2002, where Fred represented the Monterey Bay area and held the position of Speaker pro Tempore, the longest-serving individual in that role during California's term-limited history. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from San Jose State University.
