William R. Wills

Director, Software Development at Civix

William R. Wills has a diverse range of work experience spanning different industries and roles. William R. is currently the Director of Software Development at Civix, where they lead a team in developing public software related to Elections Ethics and Business Services. Their main focuses include implementing advanced DevOps practices, utilizing Agile methodologies, and working with Public Sector customers to design advanced solutions.

Prior to their current role, William served as a Corporate Partnership Program Mentor at the University of Central Florida. William R. also worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Seminole State College of Florida and served on the Program Advisory Committee Board at Full Sail University.

William has also contributed to the UCF Business Incubation and worked in corporate partnerships at VALiNTRY. In addition, they have held the position of Interim CIO at Inteserra.

Before their current endeavors, William had an extensive career with AAA National, where they held the position of Managing Director for many years. During their time there, they demonstrated expertise in technology, leadership, and ethical decision-making. William R. also played a key role on the Central Florida Zoo Board, where they served as a Board Member and contributed to various committees.

William R. Wills completed their Bachelor of Computer MIS degree in Computer Software Engineering from the University of Central Florida, from 1985 to 1999. William R. then pursued a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) at the same institution, which they completed from 2009 to 2013. More recently, in 2019 and 2020, Wills obtained a Certification in Information Security Management from the University of West Florida, specializing in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance.
