Katrin Sommer has a diverse work experience, starting in 2013 at the Fraunhofer-Institut für Grenzflächen- und Bioverfahrenstechnik IGB, where they worked as a Wissenschaftler/Wissenschaftlicher Assistent until 2016. Katrin then joined Universität Hohenheim as a Wissenschaftler (Doktorand) in November 2016. Currently, they are employed by CLADE as a Quality Manager Life Sciences starting in March 2023.
Katrin Sommer obtained their Bachelor's degree in Lebensmittelchemie (Food Chemistry) from the University of Hohenheim, where they studied from 2009 to 2015. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained several certifications, including MALDI-TOF/MS from the University of Hohenheim in 2018, Agilent GC/MS Academia from Agilent Technologies in 2016, Chromatographie Anwenderseminar from Thermo Fisher Scientific Germany in 2016, Sicherheitstechnische Schulung/Technische Gase from Tyczka Industrie-Gase GmbH in 2015, Handhabung von Volumenmessgeräten im Labor: Kolbenhubpipetten und Glasvolumenmessgeräte from BRAND GMBH + CO KG in 2014, ICP-MS Analyse von Nanomaterialien in komplexer Matrix am Beispiel von Kosmetika from PerkinElmer, Inc. in 2014, Fachkraft für Qualitätsmanagement from TÜV Süd in 2013, and ICP-MS Anwenderschulung am Model ELAN from PerkinElmer, Inc. in 2013.
