Carl Cohn serves as Professor Emeritus and Senior Research Fellow at Claremont Graduate University since September 2018. As President of Urban School Imagineers, an educational consulting firm in Long Beach, California, since October 2002, Cohn has contributed extensively to the field of education. Previously, Cohn held the position of Executive Director at the CA Collaborative for Educational Excellence from September 2015 to August 2018, and was a Professor and Director of the Urban Leadership Program at Claremont Graduate University from January 2009 to August 2015. Other significant roles include Chair of the Board of Directors at ACT, a member of the California State Board of Education, and Superintendent of Schools for both San Diego Unified School District and Long Beach Unified School District. Cohn's educational credentials include a Doctor of Education in Urban Education and Leadership from UCLA, a Master of Arts in Counselor Education from Chapman University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from St. John's College.
