Carolyn Brucken

Visiting Senior Fellow at Claremont Graduate University

Carolyn Brucken is an accomplished academic and curator with extensive experience in American culture and history. Currently serving as a Visiting Senior Fellow and Adjunct Faculty at Claremont Graduate University since January 2014, Carolyn also holds the position of Senior Curator and Chief Curator and Director of Research at the Autry Museum of the American West since 2017. Additionally, Carolyn was the Lead Curator for Project Tullie from January 2023 to January 2024. Prior roles include Chief Curator and Curator of Western Women's History at the Autry National Center, and Manager of Outreach and Training at the Museum of Tolerance. Carolyn's academic background includes a PhD in American Civilization from The George Washington University and multiple master's degrees in Early American Culture and American material culture from the University of Delaware and Winterthur Museum.
